Indian Grooms Wink On Gold !

We say one thing and do another,
Expect women their rights to surrender,
Here man should regard women,
As those good angels in heaven.

To deities we give woman's name,
But our women we do defame,
Indian grooms wink eye on gold,
Alas! women are sadly sold.

Many sang in woman's liberation,
Dreamed,poets of our own nation,
Owe to a father of many daughters,
Oh ! their matrimony still bothers.

Progressive measures brought in,
And we made glorious changes to win,
Yet color and creed root to fame,
Sometimes takes unruly name.

Nehrus have fought dowry system,
But grooms still want wisdom,
So many young women die,
Without ransom,with a great sigh!

Equal right is their birth right,
A nation proves weak without might,
Unless rights does it shower,
And takes women to the rightful bower.
