Horror In The Mirror !

I looked in to the mirror to see my face,
That everyone loved and was so kind,
The face that ever did shine with grace,
Showed the index of my very sad mind.

Forty winters all in one besieged my brow
No spring of joy, there was only timid flower,
The lovely April seen, woes stood in a row,
Leafless autumn did dominantly wither.

Whiter than the alabaster, that was my hair,
Wrinkled and crumbled looked my face,
With sunken eyes ever made my prayer,
What I saw that was of my own sad race.

Horror in the mirror, emotion did blaze,
Oh ! I saw my own dear father's face.
