'God sees but waits', a dictum beyond date,
For sinful behaviour of the unrighteous,
Nowadays God sees but refuses to wait,
God's punishments are quite instantaneous.
Prophets of old,even kings they challenged,
Condemned their sinful ways with rage,
Herod was such,matrimony stood bewildered,
John denounced Herod's unlawful marriage.
Herod thought John might a rebellion lead,
'Salome' danced to make Herod to thrive,
Drunken Herod prisoned him with a speed,
She demanded John's head,Herod did give.
Lo, the wrath of God fell upon Herod Antipas,
Stood vanquished,by his father-in-law Aretas.
